Health concerns rarely arrive at a convenient moment. The Nine Clinic offers same-day GP appointments in London at our Harley Street and Sloane Square clinics, so that a new symptom, a worsening problem or a concern that has been quietly building can be seen and assessed on the same day rather than in a fortnight’s time.
A same-day appointment is exactly what it sounds like. You call, we find you a slot with one of our GPs that day, and you leave with an assessment, a plan and, where appropriate, a prescription or a referral. Appointments run Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and out-of-hours cover is available through our alliance with The London General Practice.
Your consultation is unhurried. Our doctors take a full history, examine you properly and explain what they think is going on in language that makes sense. If further investigation is needed, tests can often be arranged during the same visit through our blood tests and diagnostic scans service, which shortens the gap between a question and an answer.
Where a specialist opinion is the right next step, we write the referral there and then. Our doctors work within London’s private medical network and can point you towards the right consultant rather than leaving you to work it out yourself.
Prescriptions are issued at the end of the appointment, and medical letters or certificates can be prepared where you need them for work, school or an insurer.
Same-day care suits an acute illness, an injury, a suspected infection, a sudden change in an existing condition, or symptoms that are worrying you enough that waiting feels wrong. It also suits busy people who simply cannot hold a health problem for three weeks until a routine slot appears.
If your concern is ongoing rather than urgent, a preventative health screening may be the more useful appointment.
